We have been bringing in the "Best of the New Crop" for over 25 years, supplying natural food and bulk food stores, schools, churches, buying groups and individuals in remote regions with fresh nuts and quality dried fruit. We also distribute our products to hundreds of Hutterite colonies throughout the prairie provinces. Although most of our business is wholesale, every year we organize direct-to-the-consumer Harvest Events, which currently take place every November in Kelowna, Vernon, Salmon Arm and Abbotsford, BC as well as two locations in Alberta. Included in our product line-up of quality dried fruits and nuts are a variety of Gift Packs, which are hand-packed in our Armstrong warehouse. The Gift Packs are available at our annual Harvest Events as well as to our wholesale customers who use them for fundraising purposes or corporate Christmas gift-giving.
Richard and Sue Vignola's involvement in the food industry springs from the days we operated our natural food store in the Okanagan town of Vernon, BC in the late '70s to early '80s. Since our retail outlet was too small to carry a large inventory of bulk foods, we offered a bulk-buying service through a printed order sheet. This enabled our customers to purchase in large quantities at substantial savings. This service soon expanded to include the new crop harvest of quality dried fruits and nuts from California. After we sold our retail store, we became affiliated with a natural foods wholesaler in Vancouver as representatives for the BC Interior and Alberta. At the same time, our annual new crop sales continued to grow to the level where, in the fall of 1999, we gave up other work commitments to focus all our energies on our "nutty" business.
Buying Groups: A Buying Group is comprised of friends, families and individuals who pool their orders together to buy products in full case lots at wholesale prices. Buying Groups usually designate a co-ordinator who places the order and receives delivery at one location. The coordinator also arranges payment on one cheque only. The group or club members then get together to split the cases and bag them up in the amounts each individual or family has ordered.
Stores: We have many years of retail experience in the natural foods industry and can help stores plan a successful promotion with our products. We can also help you pinpoint which products to feature and offer case stack discounts on volume buys. Many of our larger retailers who have run an annual "Harvest" promotion featuring our products have reported excellent sales during the event. Please contact us to discuss marketing your annual promotion.
Individual Orders: As an individual can you purchase our products? In a nutshell… yes! As long as you meet our ordering minimums and are prepared to pick up your order at a freight depot in your nearest city centre. Alternatively, to purchase in smaller packages, you can attend one of our Harvest Events.
