Green Bean Salad

Posted by & filed under recipe.

I’m a believer in eating a variety of different salads year-round. Aside from the benefits of eating a wider range of vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients for your body, it also keeps you from getting bored with your meals. I really enjoy how the flavours come together with the ingredients in this salad and… Read more »

Chicken Crusted with Almond and Flax

Posted by & filed under recipe.

Richard Potvin has shared his great recipe for an alternative to traditional breadcrumb-crusted chicken. It’s flavourful, moist and by using a variety of ingredients offers a larger range of nutritional benefits compared to breaded chicken. For those who follow a gluten-free diet, or cook for someone who does, this recipe is naturally gluten-free without sacrificing… Read more »

Blackberry Chia Jam

Posted by & filed under recipe.

Many people I know stay away from making jams, but it doesn’t have to be a daunting task! This recipe is flexible, easy and fast, doesn’t require purchasing any pectin or thickener, and no need to figure out how to can, as it can be easily kept in the freezer and thawed as needed. You… Read more »

Cashew Parsley Dip and Spread

This recipe is one we often love to share as a demo at our Harvest Events. Due to how popular it’s been, we wanted to make sure everyone got a chance to make it! Anything we use for demos has to be simple and taste great. You also need to be able to make a… Read more »

Barhi Caramel Sauce

Posted by & filed under recipe.

This is a great alternative to some of the traditional caramel recipes I’ve seen. Not only does this recipe work for most diets out there, it actually tastes great! I love it spread on muffins and other desserts, as a dip for fruit, drizzled on ice cream, and baked into desserts. The Barhi date is… Read more »

Chopped Veggie Salad

Posted by & filed under recipe.

I don’t know about you, but in the summer I try to avoid turning on the stove or oven as much as I can; it’s just too hot! This salad is tasty, easy to put together and transport, making it perfect for potlucks, picnics and any time you need a healthy lunch on-the-go!

Garlic Scape Pesto

Posted by & filed under recipe.

Summer just keeps on giving as far as produce goes at the farmers markets in the area. I generally have to talk myself out of bringing home more then I can eat, but for fresh garlic scapes and basil there’s always a bit more room. Enjoy this pesto on pasta, as a spread, dip, sauce… Read more »
