Sweet & Spiced Walnuts is one of those recipes that I just love for entertaining. It is fast, easy and delicious. I can whip them up and have them in the oven in under 10 minutes.


3 cups walnuts
1 egg white
⅔ cup sugar
3 tbsp orange juice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
½ tsp ground cloves
1 tsp salt


Preheat oven to 300°F.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Add all the ingredients except walnuts in a large bowl and mix well. Then add the walnuts and mix until they’re entirely coated; you want all the crevices filled with the wet mixture.

Spread the walnuts in a single even layer on the lined baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Mix the nuts at the 15-minute mark to make sure they brown evenly.

After baking, cool to room temperature before transferring to an airtight container for storage.


Recipe Tips & Tricks:

  • If you find the walnuts are sticky after baking and cooling, they still make the perfect dessert topping. We highly recommend putting them on ice cream.
  • Next time, don’t add any of the extra wet mixture from the bowl to the baking sheet. Or add more walnuts before baking to scoop up all the wet mixture.
